Allow extra time

BEFORE YOU START

Prepare before reaching the first step

A comfortable climb starts with a realistic plan. Keep the day flexible and avoid carrying unnecessary weight.

1

Check TTD's latest footpath and safety updates before leaving your stay.

2

Wear comfortable footwear and clothing suitable for a long uphill walk.

3

Carry only what you need for the climb and use TTD's luggage facility for heavier bags.

4

Keep drinking water, essential medicines and basic personal items accessible.

5

Plan extra time when travelling with children, elders or a larger family group.

6

Follow TTD, security and forest-department instructions throughout the route.

FACILITIES FOR FOOTPATH PILGRIMS

Useful support along the Alipiri journey

TTD provides practical facilities for pilgrims using the pedestrian routes. Exact operating arrangements can change, so treat this as a planning overview.

01

Free luggage transfer

TTD provides a luggage deposit facility at Alipiri for footpath pilgrims. Deposited luggage is transported to Tirumala for collection at the designated delivery point.

02

Drinking water & toilets

TTD lists drinking water and toilet facilities along the pedestrian routes, helping pilgrims take breaks without carrying excessive supplies.

03

Resting facilities

Shelters and resting points are provided at important locations along the footpath. Use them when needed rather than pushing through fatigue.

04

Medical support

Medical assistance is provided along the route, and TTD has continued strengthening first-aid support for pedestrian pilgrims.

05

Security

The route is monitored by TTD security and forest authorities. Follow announcements and instructions, particularly those related to wildlife movement.

06

Transport to Alipiri

TTD's current travel guidance says pilgrims can use TTD free buses or APSRTC services from Tirupati railway and bus stations to reach the foot of the hills.

FAMILY & SAFETY

Choose the footpath around your family's ability

Alipiri can be a meaningful part of the pilgrimage, but the climb should suit the health and stamina of everyone travelling with you.

With children

Keep children close throughout the climb, especially in less crowded stretches. Build in frequent breaks and follow any grouping or safety instructions issued by authorities.

With elders

The Alipiri route is a sustained uphill walk. Consider mobility, stamina, regular medicines and the ability to manage steps before choosing the footpath.

Health first

Do not treat the official walking-time estimate as a target. Take rest when needed and use medical assistance if anyone feels unwell.

WILDLIFE & ROUTE SAFETY

Follow the instructions issued on the route

TTD and forest authorities continue to monitor wildlife movement along the Alipiri footpath. Stay on the designated path, keep children close, avoid isolated movement and follow security announcements or temporary restrictions in force on the day.

OFFICIAL TTD INFORMATION

Check current footpath conditions before you start

Route access, safety procedures, pedestrian-darshan arrangements and operational facilities can change. Please use TTD's official information for the latest instructions rather than relying on old videos or forwarded messages.

A PRACTICAL MAHAS TIP

Prepare at your apartment before heading to Alipiri

Keep only your walking essentials with you, organise the family before leaving and decide in advance what will go through TTD's luggage-transfer facility. A little preparation before departure makes the start of the pilgrimage much smoother.
